Continuing Series in the Life of a Pastoral Care Pastor

April 29, 2010 – Thursday: Vacation day at last…I think. Alarm clock went off and she does not know I am on vacation. It is a normal day for her except I stayed home and did not leave which always messes up her routine…haha. On Wednesday I went to a ladies home and anointed her with oil and prayed for her to be healed…well the reason I went was because her neighbor is a friend and they are getting ready to move to Florida. Well they are downsizing and had a nice electronic piano, looked brand new, so I offered to buy it…and they accepted. Anyway went over this afternoon and paid for it and several other items…not sure why. But now I will have to start taking piano lessons…can you say :”teach an old dog new tricks”? After returning I power washed my deck and cleaned up all the furniture getting it ready for some activity as the weather is getting better each day. Cooked some BBQ chicken on the grill and added some shaved ham and a pineapple ring to mine and thought I was in Hawaii, having Hawaiian chicken on a bun…it turned out to be good. Rest of the evening I relaxed and watched the movie Apocalypse from the Bible Collection. It is about Jesus’ revelation given to the Apostle John. It was very good. Our Pastor is preaching from the book of Revelation for several more weeks and this movie played along the same lines as he is teaching from. I would recommend it to you. Now we are awaiting on the grandbabies to arrive as we will be starting out early tomorrow morning for our trip to New York, NY…it’s her 16th birthday and we are going to “do the town”. Should be fun…so, for the next couple of days will be out of range of the computer so the blog will have to await my return. See everyone then!
